Empowering girls through education & healing

Afghanistan is the only country in the world that bans girls’ secondary education.
Imagine being 14 and told you can never return to school—your only future silence, invisibility, dependence.
This is reality for 1.5 million Afghan girls today. We create alternative paths through skills training, healing, and hope.

Vocational Training

When schools close, we open workshops. Our 4-month intensive program teaches professional sewing and embroidery to young girls aged 14-25. These girls become breadwinners, supporting entire families and breaking generational cycles of helplessness.

Pathways to Belgium

Our ultimate dream: talented graduates with nowhere to go, getting somewhere to grow.
We envision supporting exceptional young women with visa sponsorship and integration support to come to Belgium.
Why? Because Belgium needs talent, and these girls have it. Win-win.

FROM VULNERABILITY TO INDEPENDENCE
The 4-Month Journey

01

Selection

We prioritize orphans, widows’ daughters, and girls from families with zero income.

These girls are trapped in poverty with no educational access.
Priority criteria:

– Lost one or both parents
– Responsible for younger siblings
– No family income
– Ages 14-25

02

Intensive Training

Groups of 10 girls train in a safe, hidden space, a rented
center provided by a trusted community leader.

For 4 months, they learn tailoring and embroidery from expert instructors.

What they receive:
– 3 hours/day, 5 days/week (9am-12pm).
– Instructors are professional tailors with over 5 years of experience.
– Bi-weekly psychosocial counseling sessions included.
– Additional activities: tea chats, storytelling, and light fitness.

03

Economic Independence

Graduates receive a complete professional toolkit: sewing
machine, materials, and ongoing mentorship.
They launch their own micro-businesses, earning income to support their families.

What happens next:
– Full tailoring kit (machine + materials)
– Mentorship from alumni network
– Income from clothing orders
– Break the cycle of poverty

Healing in hidden spaces

When education is banned and voices are silenced,
mental health becomes a silent crisis.

The Invisible Crisis

Afghanistan is the only country banning girls’ secondary education.
But the damage goes far beyond lost diplomas.

Isolated, voiceless, and trapped at home, adolescent girls face:

  • Profound anxiety and depression
  • Loss of identity and future prospects
  • Increased vulnerability to gender-based violence
  • Early forced marriages
  • Suicidal ideation in severe cases

Without safe spaces or support networks, these girls
suffer in silence—invisible to the world.

The Numbers Behind the Crisis

📊 1.5 million girls banned from school
🚫 0 mental health services accessible
💔 80% report severe psychological distress
👥 0 safe spaces for peer support

“I feel like I don’t exist anymore.
No school, no future, no voice.”
